Steroids generally has an adverse effect on estrogen level of the body in males . Increased estrogen level leads to gynecomastia which is the reason of breast enlargement in males. At this point, Tamoxifen blocks the estrogen receptors in breast tissue. In other words, it will limit the gynecomostia concern as a side effect of anabolic steroids. Mainly because of this effect it is considered as an post cycle drug to overcome the negative effects of steroid used cycles.
Tamoxifen is not considered as the potent ancillary drug that can be used on a cycle, but probably it is one of the safest one. Since, it is not blocking estrogen release in the body while preventing the occurrence of gynecomastia. The side effects of Tamoxifen include, but not limited to, vomiting, nausea, hot flashes, numbness and blurred vision. It may also cause irregular menstrual cycles or even missing a period for females due to its anti-estrogen being.
In case of how much dose should be taken in normal conditions, it is recommended to take 10 to 30 mg/day can provide a sufficent effect on the estrogen level.
